To all 2008 Capital Sound marching members:

The Board of Directors would like to thank you for your patience in waiting for your 2008 marching dues. As noted in our last communication, Capital Sound Drum & Bugle Corps decided to go inactive again for the 2009 marching season. At that time, the decision was made to liquidate the Corps’ assets in order to pay these amounts. While we have been working diligently in our search of a band or corps to purchase the assets, we find in today’s economic times it has been difficult.

We currently have an outstanding bid from a local band for the purchase of a portion of our equipment. We are hopeful to have those funds within the next several weeks to begin refunding member dues.

As noted in previous communications, we would like to reiterate that it is the Board’s first priority to refund the member dues. In order to be consistent in that approach, if we do not have enough from the initial sale to refund each member the full amount owed, we will begin with a percentage of the amount owed. In addition, each member will receive the payments directly regardless of who paid the dues on their behalf. For example, if you have received a portion of your dues from a supporting family member, the refund will be made to you. It will then be your responsibility to return that money to the supporting individual. The Board feels this is the most fair and consistent way to return the monies to the members.

Thank you for your patience and consideration as we work through the liquidation of assets and refunding of dues. We apologize that the process is a slow and painful one.

We wish everyone the best as they may be auditioning for other corps for the 2009 marching season.

Thank you.

May our sound always be heard!

To all 2008 Capital Sound marching members:

The Board of Directors would like to thank you for your patience in waiting for your 2008 marching dues. As noted in our last communication in October, Capital Sound Drum & Bugle Corps decided to go inactive again for the 2009 marching season. At that time, the decision was made to liquidate the Corps’ assets in order to pay these amounts. While we are in the process of selling those assets at the current time, we have not yet finalized the sale. However, we have several bids that we are hopeful will be finalized shortly and we will then begin refunding the dues.

We would like to reiterate at this time that it is the Board’s first priority to refund the member dues as soon as possible. In order to be consistent in that approach, each member will receive the amount due them regardless of who paid the dues on their behalf.

For example, if you have received a portion of your dues from a supporting family member, the refund will be made to you. It will then be your responsibility to return that money to the supporting individual. The Board feels this is the most fair and consistent way to return the monies to the members.

Thank you for your patient and consideration as we work through the liquidation of assets and refunding of dues.

We wish everyone the best as they may be auditioning for other corps for the 2009 marching season.

Thank you.
